Kyle {Seniors 2012}

Aug 23, 2011

I’ve come to accept it – I cannot escape hockey. I’ve been on skates about as long as I’ve been on my feet, and between my dad coaching, and my 3 brothers playing, I’ve been watching, talking, working, and {unfortunately} smelling hockey on a consistent basis for the last 24 years. Is it any wonder that my photography career got me back on the ice? But the inevitable happened when 2012 senior Kyle was interested in shooting part of his session on location at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena. Kyle has been playing on travel teams all over Michigan and plans on spending his senior year in Traverse City where he will skate for a Junior hockey team. Very exciting! While he was changing into his hockey equipment, I had a wonderful time chatting with his girlfriend, Hannah, whom came along for the ride (as well as his mom, dad, and sister!! ;) ). She was telling me that he kept checking his “flow” in the mirror and was concerned about its well being. Now, I’ve never heard this term before, but after seeing his hair, I was able to deduce what was meant. I chalked it up as a sign that I was getting old – a theory disproven later when my mom referred to the “nice flow he had going on.” I guess I’m not getting old, I’m just out of touch. Fortunately, I get to hang out with amazing seniors like Kyle on occasion, providing me the opportunity to get caught up on the latest lingo. Lingo, do people still use that? … Anyway, here is Kyle’s preview. Enjoy!!!
