Grant {2013 Senior Rep} | Chicago & Saginaw Photographer

May 23, 2012

I’ve never considered myself to be a super girlie girl – I’ve always liked to be outside and don’t mind getting dirty but I’m pretty sure all my credibility went out the window while shooting this very outdoorsy senior rep session. Grant is the epitome of an outdoorsman. He loves to be outside – fishing, hunting (all kinds of game, with all kinds of gear), and playing sports. So when we were discussing the locations for his photos, it was only fitting that we go where he spends most of his time doing those activities. During the session we chatted about the different kinds of fish in the pond, and if he swims in it, the animals in the area, where he likes to hunt, and what it all entailed. As I listened and asked questions I began to realize how very much of a city girl that I really am… and then a frog jumped, I screamed, ran, and then they TOO knew how much of a wuss and a city girl I am. 😉 My cover is blown – Hi my name is Jennifer and I am afraid of seaweed; frogs, turtles and other slimy, squirmy things; fish; touching fish; and the knowledge that any and all those things could be swimming around with me while in a lake. But I digress….

In addition to his love for hunting and fishing, Grant and a few of his buddies began filming and shooting their own YouTube videos about the topic – Mad Bomber TV. I am almost recovered from the frog trauma (oh yea, and the 2 foot long musky that we saw in the pond – yikes!!!), so I might be able to check out some of his vids now…I’ve been told they’re actually really great so you should check them out too! All in all it was a great shoot with a handsome young man (a future in modeling?? I think so…Just sayin’ I think he rocked it!!), on an absolutely GORGEOUS night, and I had a fabulous time working with Grant and his mom and dad. Thanks you guys for being so amazing and not making fun of me for being such a chicken. 😉 Enjoy!!
