Erin {Seniors 2012}

Oct 27, 2011

So when I received an e-mail from Erin’s mom to schedule a SENIOR session, I couldn’t have felt more old. The daughter of one of the teacher’s at my high school (one whom I unfortunately never got the opportunity to have – except for during early morning detention…:/), Erin was forever immortalized in my mind as an 8 year old, so to think she was now a senior reminded me how long I’ve been out of school ::sadface::. Lucky for me though, you’re only as old as you feel and Erin is a gorgeous and vivacious young lady, that made me forget that I’m on the other side of 25. 😉

I was asked by my husband’s grandfather over the summer, what my obsession was with all the old and run down buildings that I use as backdrops in my photos? My answer to that is, why not?! Old buildings and urban settings have character and texture that new buildings and manicured lawns don’t have. I love it when clients have that vision in their mind! Erin’s mom had even done some scouting on her own and found some great spots that I hadn’t used before! It often amazes me how just a tiny little spot that you’d never think to take pictures of can be the best location. I had Erin crossing railroad tracks to a small patch of weeds and brightly colored vines for a little fall color (of course next to a fun rickety old building for interest), and got marooned there until the train that came barreling through, had passed. Nothing like posing in front of a ton of cars stuck in traffic waiting for a train to pass. I like to make it interesting. 😉

Thanks again to Erin and Denise for a fun session! I had such a great time meeting and working with you guys!! Enjoy your preview (and happy belated birthday Erin!!)!
